10 Ways to be Totally Prepped and Organized

Staying organized is no easy task when you are young or just filled with a bunch of ideas to take over the world—or maybe that’s just me. Whatever your day brings we’ve got you covered with fun and creative ways to help you become your best personal assistant.

Tip #1: Send your daily reminders in a text message. If you are not great at remembering to check your paper to-do list then this tip is perfect for you. You will have a constant reminder on your phone for when you are on the go.

Tip #2: Find the perfect little notepad. It is important to connect your goals in a way that feels tangible. When you write down a goal don’t be afraid to take an entire page up, make bullets and even set deadlines. Having a page or two for your goals with a timeline helps put your thoughts into perspective and soon into action. Don’t just settle for any notepad. Make it personal, make it chic, and make it you.

Tip #3: If you must write do it right. Muji has a great collection of raw and industrial materials and their pens write beautifully and have a modern sleek look.

Tip #4: Find your creative meets focused place. Having designated areas at home or maybe at a café is beneficial to your success and drive to succeed. Surround yourself with things and people that inspire you to move forward.

Tip #5: Keep your cool when obstacles come along. You have to come to terms with the fact that “not everything is going to go your way,” even if you are running the whole show.

Tip #6: Find your playlist or theme song. I’m all about 90s hip-hop music and nothing can bring me down when The Notorious B.I.G. is on replay.

Tip #7: Check your emails on the go. If you don’t have a smartphone or tablet, I’d suggest investing in one. Of course, they can be pricey, but there are tons of trendy and inexpensive electronics out there to keep you up-to-date.

Tip #8: Another investment that can be pricey is a luxury all-purpose bag. I’m talking about multiple compartments for books, a laptop, a phone, etc. Don’t you just hate the feeling of forgetting something or leaving things at home because it didn’t fit in your bag? Me too. Messenger bags and stylish backpacks are your cure.

Tip #9: Keep communication going. We recently fell in love with the instant messaging service Slack which allows you to create multiple channels (chat rooms) to organize team conversations by projects and topics. With a desktop, mobile, and web app I’m sure you will make the right connection.

Tip #10: Take a break, refresh, and recharge. Give yourself some time to breathe. If you are working hard to prepare for one big project or a thousand small tasks, you will burn yourself out if you don’t take the time to find your center.

And that is it! We love a great tip or bunch. How do you stay organized and on-track of projects? Let us know on Instagram @yhmmagazine.
