Happy New Year and welcome to another session of our pop culture buzz—possibly the only time we’ll talk about celebrity gossip. For those of you who are still in a bubbly mood from all that celebration our team got together and made a YouTube weekend playlist. When you have a moment to break from dancing check out Michelle Obama’s amazing words of hope as she wraps up her time as the First Lady of the United States. This week was full of surprises from Disney’s cancellation of Girl Meets World to Kim Kardashian-West’s return to social media. Let’s get into it.

Michelle Obama. Be hopeful. Be empowered.
Yesterday, January 06, 2017, First Lady Michelle Obama held a ceremony for the 2017 School Counselor of the Year event at the White House. Mrs. Obama delivered a heart-warming speech, stressed the importance of education, and gave young people hope for the future.
“For all the young people in this room and those who are watching, know that this country belongs to you, to all of you. . . . If you or your parents are immigrants, know that you are part of a proud American tradition.”
Designer to Know
The fashion designer Giuliana Leila Raggiani pulls inspiration from her late Sicilian grandmother, Palmira Giglia, for her spring/summer 2017 line. She calls the collection her most personal yet.

She Broke the Internet…Again!
Kim Kardashian-West is back y’all—and we couldn’t be happier. Following Kardashian-West’s robbery in Paris, France the internet went into a total frenzy as the reality TV star stopped sharing her glamorous lifestyle on social media. However, after four long months of neglect, she’s back on Instagram. Kardashian-West’s latest posts are adorable peeks of her life as a mother and wife—no runways, no Kimojis, no promotions. Just her.
Boy Meets World vs. Girl Meets World
Do you still watch the Disney channel? Just admit it, like me, you totally get into new shows while babysitting younger cousins. Right? So when Disney announced that Girl Meets World was going to be a spinoff of the popular 90s sitcom Boy Meets World and feature the original actors who played Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) and Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel) I lost it! However, after three seasons Disney is pulling the plugs on one of our favorite TV couples again. #tears
