Meryl Davis and Charlie White: It seems as if these two skated their way right out of a Disney movie. Their beautiful and inspiring performances have made this pair become the figure skating royalty. They won the silver medal at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, but they were aiming for gold in 2014.

Davis and White enlisted the help of Dancing with the Stars champion Derrick Hough to help them bring more ballroom technique to their program. The Ice Dancing Duo won gold at Sochi, beating their Canadian rivals, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir. This is the first EVER gold that the U.S has won in Olympic Ice Dancing!

Check out their ballroom inspired Gold medal winning routine performed at the US Figure Skating Championship.

Yulia Lipnitskaya: This is the first Olympics for 15-year-old Lipnitskaya. She debuted at the Olympics with her flawless performance during the new team competition. She became the youngest skater to ever win the European Championships in January.

Her biggest strength is her elasticity and her spins. Although she had falls in her short program and her free skate and placed 4th in the Women’s competition, many predict that she will be a force to be reckoned with by 2018!

Gus Kenworthy: Not only did Kenworthy win a silver medal in Men’s slopestyle skiing alongside two other U.S.A. teammates but now he’s being known as the Olympic puppy saver! After hearing about what happened to the abandoned dogs in Sochi, Kenworthy set out to find and help these dogs.

He found a litter of German Shepard puppies and is now trying to adopt them and bring them back to the US. Kenworthy also asked Miley Cyrus to be his Valentine, no word if she said “yes”!

Jason Brown: Jason Brown may have placed 9th in the Men’s Figure Skating Competition but him and his ponytail, or “bronytail”, as many are calling it, have made their way into the hearts of many. His ponytail even has its own Twitter!

The adorable 19-year-old performed at his first Olympics with a river dance-inspired routine. Although he did not win an individual medal he did receive a bronze that Team USA won during the team Ice Skating competition.

At the Olympic Jason performed his Riverdance routine which he debuted at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships this year. Check out his amazing performance.

Iouri Podladtchikov: Russian Snowboarder, also known as “iPod”, gained notoriety at Sochi for winning the gold medal over Shaun White in men’s snowboarding half-pipe. He is the first rider to perform a Cab double cork 1440 in a half pipe competition. He dubbed this move the “YOLO” flip meaning You Only Live Once.
