Can Men & Women Just Be Friends?

It’s normal for people to build a bond with each other over time. But what if they’re of the opposite sex? Can guys and girls have friendships without drama or romantic feelings? This, of course, has been a question for the ages. We’ve seen all the classics like When Harry Met Sally, No Strings Attached, Friends With Benefits, and 13 Going on 30. Those romantic comedies tackled this great debate on the widescreen. We asked a few young women on their experiences with guys and if they had any awkward encounters because let’s face it we all have some really hot guy friend right? Tori, 19 | Of course, guys and girls can be friends! I have many guy friends. I go to parties, sporting events, and dinners with them all the time. They are really cool. I have brothers and I spent time with guys all the time so I’m really comfortable around them. Of course, some of us might develop romantic feelings but it goes away quickly over time. My guy friends already know that I have a boyfriend so they respect …

A Mixtape of Love: The Perfect Way to Your Valentine’s Heart

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about what to get that special someone that you might want to spend the day with.  While many people choose to splurge and adore their Valentine with expensive gifts and flowers, there is always a way to avoid breaking the bank while also showing him or her how much you truly care. Mixtapes are the perfect way to show a great deal of sentiment and can also send a personal and intimate message to your significant other! Music has always had a strange and magical way of uniting and allowing people to express their love to one another, without actually conveying them with their own words. In Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), Logan Lerman’s character, Charlie gives his love interest, Sam (played by Emma Watson), a series of mixtapes to show his love in a subtle but adorable way. A playlist of all the songs that make you think of your Valentine would certainly put a smile on their face. It shows that you …

Girl Boss vs. Boss

A girl boss [to me] is a strong woman who owns her sh*t in her personal and professional life and isn’t apologetic about it. She’s not afraid to take risks or be assertive when it comes to her business affairs. Women have been running things behind the scenes for a long time but aren’t always acknowledged or given credit for it. We live in a male dominated society where there’s still a massive gender gap when it comes to seeing women in executive level positions or receiving equal pay to men. Women still make a 77 cents to every dollar men earn. Distinguishing women as “girl bosses” doesn’t take away from them. Using the term “girl” or “female” in front of words such as boss or entrepreneur shouldn’t be seen as a setback or offensive. Women are taking their power back in a non-male bashing way. They’re high stepping and holding their own across the board. Women that come to mind that are leading that front include Shonda Rimes (the power force behind Grey’s Anatomy, …

These quotes are not like the cheeky lines delivered from your favorite chick flick about the perfect love. Take a look at some of the fab ways these beauties are making sense of…love. What are some helpful tips & values you think girls should keep when in a relationship? Georgette, 27 – Love you. Come filled with more than enough love and happiness within yourself. Oftentimes, we go in EXPECTING someone to make us happy. To some extent, yes that should happen, but if we get it right the first time, we would be overflowing with so much love and happiness for ourselves, that we have more than enough to give …

Check out what some men have to say about attraction and dating. If you could prep a girl’s mind for a first date with you, what would you tell her and would you go for a romantic evening? Matt, 22 – Definitely got to be a bit romantic, but this date is the attention grabber, the hook, the intro paragraph to what is hopefully a long book. I don’t think it has to always be a romantic dinner, and it shouldn’t be, I would tell the girl to be open minded and to expect that it is something I know they …
