YHM Special: Staying Genuine to Yourself with Sarah Jaihe Lee

Committing yourself to following your dreams isn’t an effortless road to travel. There are so many distractions young people can get tangled up in from school to friendships. But, with a plan of action and a driven heart you can make the impossible, possible. YHM’s very own, Sarah Jaihe Lee, breaks down her accomplishments from 2013 and gives us a peek of the year ahead. Back On The Grind

At one point or another we have all set goals for ourselves. It can be something as simple as telling yourself you are going to wake up early in the morning, to saying you want to lose twenty pounds before a big event. It is no surprise to anyone that students around the world are beginning to set new goals for themselves as a new school year begins. YHM asks student, Shannon Kelly, to share her goals for the upcoming school session. I know every student probably sets the same goals when school starts. They tell themselves they want to get all A’s so they strive to do all of their readings, go to every class, and submit every assignment. Just like other students I want the same things, but now that I am older, newer goals are getting added to that list. My goal is to do my best to receive an internship that will set me up for life once I graduate. I feel that these opportunities are the best ways to allow …

Strength From Others Equals Strength In Yourself

Each and every one of us has the strength and support we need to succeed in life, we just have to find it. We may find it on our own or we may rely on others to help us enhance the untapped potential we may possess. The people who help us may come in the form of a family member, friend, teacher, or even a stranger. YHM asks New Jersey’s Massah Bassie where she finds her strength. I find my strength from my family and friends. Whenever I find that I am beggining to doubt myself I know that my support system will be there to make sure that I continue. They take my “I cant’s” and turn them into “you can.” I am never alone in my endeavors because I have people left and right who are willing to take the journey with me.
