Why We Need to Keep Saying Her Name: Breonna Taylor
With the resurgence of the hashtag #SayHerName, Breonna Taylor has become the new symbol of the Black Lives Matter movement as heart-wrenching accounts of police violence have swept the nation. But Taylor’s intersectional identity as a black woman has affected how her story has been told, and the police officers responsible for her death still face no charges. We need to say her name, along with the names of other black women that have been largely overlooked in the media.
