March/April 2017 | Hey Mod Girls!

Is it just me? Every month; no wait—every week feels like the perfect time to start over and just give life another shot. While spring continues to play peek-a-boo over here in the Northeast, we’re going to jump right into the season. Our team is excited to do a little spring cleaning. Over the next few months, you’ll find subtle changes on our site and our social media accounts such as Instagram and Facebook. So be sure to follow along as we dish up some new stories and campaigns.

I’m currently regaining my strength after a few winter runs around the city for New York Fashion Week. It seems as though no matter how hard I try, I’m never dressed warm enough for fashion week in February! Nonetheless, I had a blast; I felt like I was invited to an exclusive-ultra-cool-yaas party at Chi Zhang’s autumn/winter 2017 show hosted at the Space Shuttle Pavilion at the Intrepid Museum. The music, lights, and the dancing models definitely made this show one of my favorites this season. Then Vivienne Hu stunned with her sleek ready-to-wear collection. We slowed down our pace by popping into a few fashion presentations between shows and for the first time YHM is ready to talk weddings. Limor Ben Yosef’s bridal gowns are breathtaking works of art and we can’t wait to share her story.

So many designers and so many new trends, we’re getting back to our original roots of covering fashion designers this month, but we are also in celebration mode. March is Women’s History Month and we want to honor the amazing women before us and those who are making a difference in their community! We won’t be the home of hardcore political news and movements, but we want to keep you informed about the social changes that affect you. We hope to inspire you to get out there and let your voice be heard. Positive vibes only.
